Del 1 al 31 de marzo de 2024, el artista mexicano Daniel Ventura tuvo una temporada de trabajo en la ciudad de Breda. Este período de trabajo es parte de su proyecto Horizontes comenzado en México y que ahora tiene una variante holandesa. El periodo de trabajo de Daniel Ventura constó de dos partes: una publicación online y un periodo de trabajo presencial. La primera parte de la colaboración comenzó en 2023 desde México para investigar cómo Daniel puede hacer que su proceso artístico y creativo sea compartible en texto e imágenes. Las representaciones gráficas y las reflexiones conceptuales sobre la idea de "raíces" y "fundamentos", un tema importante en su obra, determinan el contenido de la publicación en línea en el sitio web de Witte Rook. Para la segunda parte del periodo de trabajo, Daniel viajó desde Ciudad de México a Breda para trabajar en su proyecto Horizontes in situ. En marzo realizó una investigación del medio ambiente y la arquitectura de Breda para comprender cómo se formó la ciudad. Esto inspiró un cambio específico de ubicación en su trabajo que cuestiona y crea el concepto de espacio habitable. Este proceso escultórico se combina con dibujos, mapas y notas gráficas. Estas obras se reunieron en una presentación en la Galería de la Ciudad.
From March 1 to 31, 2024, Mexican artist Daniel Ventura had a working period in the city of Breda. This work period is part of his long-running project Horizons, which took place in Mexico and is now getting a Dutch variant. The working period of Daniel Ventura consisted of two parts: an online publication and a working period in person. The first part of the collaboration started in 2023 from Mexico as an investigation of how Daniel can make his artistic and creative process shareable in text and image. Graphic representations and conceptual reflections on the idea of “roots” and “foundations” – an important theme in his work – determine the content of the online publication on the Witte Rook website. For the second part of the working period, Daniel traveled from Mexico City to Breda to carry out his project Horizons on site. He spent the month of March exploring the environment and architecture in Breda to understand how the city has been shaped. This inspired a site-specific change in his work that questions and creates the concept of living space. This sculptural process was combined with drawings, maps and graphic notes. These works come together in a presentation in the StadsGalerij.
